What certifications or licenses will I receive?

Graduates will be prepared to earn their Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license through the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). You'll also receive your CPR/BLS certification, which is required to work in a dental office.

Is your program accredited?

Medico Dental Assistance Academy is a licensed training provider in the state of Texas. Our program meets the educational standards required for the Texas RDA certification. While we are not a Title IV federally accredited institution, our program is recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and designed specifically to meet the requirements for state licensure.

How much does the program cost?

Tuition for the full program is $6,150, with no hidden fees.

Do you offer financial aid or payment plans?

Yes! Many students qualify for tuition assistance through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). We also offer payment plans through Coach Financial and flexible in-house payment options to fit most budgets.

Are there any hidden fees or costs for supplies or exams?

No hidden fees. Your tuition includes all lab supplies, materials, CPR/BLS certification, and your RDA exam prep. The only additional cost is the state application fee for the RDA license, which is paid directly to the Texas State Board.

Can I use my FAFSA or scholarships here?

We are not a Title IV school, so FAFSA and federal scholarships do not apply. However, many students receive funding through TWC grants, workforce programs, or employer tuition reimbursement. We also offer flexible payment plans.

Is there an enrollment or application fee?

Yes, there is a $100 enrollment fee that secures your seat in the program. This fee is applied toward your total tuition.

Are classes offered during evenings or weekends?

Yes! Our program is designed for flexibility. Online coursework is done during evenings, and hands-on labs take place on Saturdays, making it perfect for students who are working or have busy schedules.

Is this program available online or only in person?

It’s a hybrid program. Lectures and coursework are completed online at your convenience, and hands-on skills are taught in-person on Saturdays at our Dallas campus.

Can I work while attending school?

Absolutely. Our program is specifically designed for busy adults. The hybrid format allows you to balance work, family, and school.

How many hours per week is the program?

Expect to dedicate 8 to 12 hours per week. This includes 2–4 hours of online coursework during the week and 4 hours of in-person labs on Saturdays.

What are the requirements to enroll?

You must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have access to a computer or smart device for online coursework
  • Be a Texas resident if applying for TWC funding

What is the job placement rate for your graduates?

Most of our graduates find employment within 30–60 days of completing the program. While job placement cannot be guaranteed, our program includes job readiness coaching, resume help, and local dental office connections.

How much can I expect to earn as a dental assistant?

In Texas, Registered Dental Assistants typically earn between $17 and $25 per hour, with experienced dental assistants earning even more depending on the office and specialization.
